Sylvia Goncalves – Founder 

Sylvia Goncalves, founded, Persian Cat Rescue Durban N.P.O 147 – 845  in 2010.  From a little girl, Sylvia adored all animals, often living in her imagination, where she had a lot of 4 legged friends. These consisted of her pet lions & tigers & her wooley sheep friends, & they all lived & loved the forest, which was their home. Ironically, the name Sylvia, means forest, & spirit of the forest. To the best of our knowledge, there has never been an official Breed Specific Rescue Organisation in Durban, KZN, for Persian Cats, ever. It was crafted dauntingly, by going bravely into uncharted waters, that have not been charted before. The call to rescue full time requires one’s all, & there are times one will work with one’s toes, knee-deep in the trenches.  Sylvia’s deep love for animals,& heartfelt connection for the earth, led her In 2010  to officially make the leap, from being an avid, animal lover, to giving up all, & going full time, into the life long work of, breed-specific rescue & of building & creating & establishing, a sanctuary, tailor-made, for the unique needs, of, Persian cats. .       
Sylvia has dedicated her life to the rescue, care, rehabilitation, & to the work of Persian Cat Rescue Durban.   

Patrick Xaba

Patrick Xaba is employed full time.  He is a gentle, kind, man, who has a special way with animals.  He has 8 years of Veterinary experience.  He loves his work, and loves to work with animals.  Patrick is totally trustworthy, hard working and completely dedicated.
